Ron Sullivan
Community Chaplain
Pathways is saddened by the loss of our beloved Community Chaplain, Rev. Ronald “Ron” E. Sullivan 1940-2016. Ron passed away suddenly on Oct 25, 2016. The lives Ron touched are too numerous to list and his ministry far reaching. A dedicated servant for his Lord, Ron had a great relationship with Jesus Christ. Ron ministered for many years to men and women imprisoned in our region’s correctional facilities. He proudly ministered with Metro Community Chaplaincy, a stint as interim Chaplain at CNSCF, and lastly with Pathways to Freedom.
We as Christians are called to be like Jesus and be a light to others. Ron did so with such great ease, where most may stumble in their own attempts. Ron wasn’t interested in titles, and wasn’t one for limelight. Ron Sullivan selflessly gave of himself to others that a majority of folks would never dare. Whether it be in a Tim Horton’s, a prison range, or in a small cell praying with an offender, Ron was the real deal. He was an image of Christ in everyday clothes. He honestly, and deeply cared for those who sought him for help. Ron was the shepherd, and they were his flock.
The Pathways team mourns with Ron’s wife Betty and their family. We give thanks to God for allowing us to be able to minister with such a tremendous warrior for the kingdom. Ron, may you rest easy and continue to win the battle in the heavenly realm. Well done, good and faithful servant!
